Ideal for residential, commercial and industrial buildings, the Deeter Intelligent Leak Detector System comprises a Leak Detector Controller in a DIN-rail mounting enclosure and a set of Leak Detector Sensors in small, floor-mounting ABS enclosures. The Controller can identify each sensor and provide information about the location of a leak whenever a leak is detected.
The Intelligent Leak Detector can be used in conjunction with the deeternet® Wireless Gateway to provide the user with constant monitoring of their Intelligent Leak Detector System. This system can be configured so that whenever a leak is found in the system, notifications can be provided via email or SMS of the location of any leaks so that they can be dealt with as quickly as possible. When the deeternet® Wireless Gateway is connected to a LAN, users can actively monitor the current status of all Intelligent Leak Detector Sensors within the system using any device with access to the LAN. The deeternet® Wireless Gateway can be used in conjunction with the Intelligent Leak Detector in this way to monitor up to 200 Intelligent Leak Detector Sensors at any one time.
The Intelligent Leak Detector Controller has an LCD and three push-button switches to enable the user to access option menus and select from a variety of programmable features. During normal operation the display shows system status or the identity of any leaks. Power to the Controller can be from a mains supply (220-240VAC) or a low- voltage supply (10-24V), either AC or DC.
The controller has a variety of process outputs including two SPDT relays to directly control mains powered pumps, valves or alarms, and an open-collector transistor is also provided for connection to a programmable logic controller (PLC), building management system (BMS) or for indirectly driving further valves or pumps via an external relay. An RS485 serial communications port is also included for remote monitoring. The relays and transistor output can be independently assigned to respond to any leak or to a leak within a group of sensors. Alternatively, they can be assigned to a fault condition.
Intelligent Leak Sensors are housed in ABS enclosures rated to IP65 and have a pair of stainless steel sensing probes protruding through the underside. Sensors are linked in a daisy-chain configuration using 4-core cable which also provides power to the sensor.
The maximum number of sensors in a system is 80 and the maximum cable length between sensors is approximately 200m. For cable runs greater than 200m the user can fit an extra sensor in the line to act as a signal repeater.
